History of the Business

The business commenced trading in 1858 for the sole purpose of supplying non-alcoholic communion wine to a number of different ecumenical bodies.

The Company claims to be the oldest non-alcoholic Communion wine company in Great Britain (if not the World). The business came into being due to the efforts of Mr Frank Wright, a chemist by profession and also a devout Methodist and tee-totaller.

Mr John Payne (above left) has been involved with the business as Managing Director since 1990. He has a passionate belief that quality and a first class service must be the key to running a business based on Christian principles.

Mrs Lesley Murray will normally be the voice at the other end of the telephone. She has been with the company since December 1990, and has built up a wonderful knowledge of its customers and their requirements. Orders received with the instruction "the same as last time" are no problem to Lesley.
